1 My God, how wonderful thou art,
thy majesty how bright!
How beautiful thy mercy seat,
in depths of burning light!

ii Wondrous are thine eternal years,
O everlasting Lord,
by holy angels twenty-four hour period and nighttime
unceasingly adored!

3 O how I fear thee, living God,
with deepest, tend'rest fears,
and worship thee with trembling hope
and penitential tears!

4 Even so I may love thee too, O Lord,
almighty every bit one thousand fine art,
for thou hast stooped to inquire of me
the dear of my poor heart.

v No earthly father loves like thee,
no mother half and then mild
bears and forbears, as thou hast done
with me, thy sinful child.

vi How wonderful, how cute,
the sight of thee volition be,
thine countless wisdom, boundless pow'r,
and awesome purity!

7 Father of Jesus, Love divine,
what rapture it will be,
prostrate before thy throne to lie,
and gaze and gaze on thee!

Author: Frederick William Faber

Raised in the Church building of England, Frederick Due west. Faber (b. Calverly, Yorkshire, England, 1814; d. Kensington, London, England, 1863) came from a Huguenot and strict Calvinistic family groundwork. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford, and ordained in the Church building of England in 1839. Influenced by the teaching of John Henry Newman, Faber followed Newman into the Roman Cosmic Church in 1845 and served nether Newman's supervision in the Oratory of St. Philip Neri. Because he believed that Roman Catholics should sing hymns like those written by John Newton, Charles Wesley, and William Cowpe, Faber wrote 150 hymns himself.
